Fin whale:

Date/time (local)OccurrenceLatitudeLongitudeNotes
09/29/15 01:46:08Detected44.0524-62.8559Fin: many calls in doublet pattern with consistent IPI's. May be multiple animals calling.

Humpback whale:

Date/time (local)OccurrenceLatitudeLongitudeNotes
09/29/15 03:46:08Possibly detected44.0650-62.8691Humpback: Many unknown HF downsweeps. I'm going with possible humpback because I've seen calls like these associated with humpback song and don't know of other species making similar ones. They're repeated but not in any kind of song-like pattern. And there are >3 which satisfies the protocol. Check spectrogram.
09/29/15 20:46:08Possibly detected44.1784-62.94055 unknown downsweeps below 200 Hz. 1 is classified as humpback call type 17, the rest are unclassified (but much louder). Closely resemble sei downsweeps, but might be slightly higher frequency. I know humpbacks to make similar calls. This satisfies protocol for possible humpback. Check spectrogram.

09/29/15 08:46:0844.1004-62.88903 "upcalls" classified as humpback, but shape is very steep so I suspect it's due to noise or a pitch tracking artifact and not biological.
09/29/15 10:46:0844.1134-62.9028Fin detections in p4 are faint and within noise, not enough for possible.
09/29/15 19:46:0844.1723-62.9333Fin: faint pattern may emerge in p2-3, but there's too much noise and too few classifications for possible

09/29/15 21:46:0844.1847-62.9480Unknown downsweeps in p1 and p8, but vary in amplitude. P8 example also has high and low component. Not enough for possible humpback. Two classified rw upcall but both too faint to be convincing. Possible fin pattern in p13 but IPI is too long.
