Date/time (local) | Latitude | Longitude | Notes |
08/26/16 00:47:41 | 40.2607 | -73.2198 | 3 classified pulses in panel 10, but IPIs are 8 and 10 s. In the right ballpark, but the fact that they are
different IPIs makes me say "not detected". |
08/26/16 09:32:41 | 40.2607 | -73.2198 | Fantastic fin whale calling here! |
08/26/16 10:32:41 | 40.2607 | -73.2198 | More great fin whale sequences. |
08/26/16 12:47:41 | 40.2607 | -73.2198 | Very nice fin whale 20-Hz sequences here. |
08/26/16 13:32:41 | 40.2607 | -73.2198 | Fin whale 20-Hz sequence in p12 is borderline. |
08/26/16 14:32:41 | 40.2607 | -73.2198 | Lots of ship noise. |
08/26/16 15:47:41 | 40.2607 | -73.2198 | Marking possibly because of sequence in p5 - looks like a sequence of 5 calls, but the 3rd call is not
classified. Other calls later in the period look like 2 fin whales calling, but not sure. |
08/26/16 16:32:41 | 40.2607 | -73.2198 | Near continuous fin whale calling with boat noise higher in the spectrogram. |
08/26/16 17:32:41 | 40.2607 | -73.2198 | Great fw sequences at 9-11 s IPI. |
08/26/16 20:32:41 | 40.2607 | -73.2198 | Lots of ship noise. From marinetraffic.com, fishing vessel (MMSI: 367625230, Call Sign: WDH5170) arrived
near NY Bight buoy at 8/27/16 00:30 GMT, worked all night very close to buoy, and left the area at 8/27/16
13:00 GMT. Vessel is very apparent in DMON background noise. The vessel was Maizey James out of Point
Pleasant Beach, New Jersey (Manasquan River). This is likely the vessel causing noise in this and subsequent
periods.
